Changing the Discourse
2013 marked the first annual Veterans in Society conference, hosted by Virginia Tech and organized by faculty, staff, and graduate students in the Department of English, Department of Philosophy, the Carol M. Newman Library, and the Veteran and Military Student Support Initiative. Last year’s event, themed around Changing the Discourse, marked the first academic conference solely focused on veteran-related research. Those involved sought to improve the breadth and quality of research taking place in the emerging field of Veterans Studies.
You can read more about the event at last year’s website.
In December 2013, we will be posting a link to last year’s conference proceedings, available as open access files through the Carol M. Newman library.
